Summary

Inquisitive, motivated and passionate Web Application Developer/ Consultant; 10 years of experience in developing, from ground up, custom in house eCommerce applications for online retail businesses. Working hand in hand with the client to educate them as well as understand their needs. Providing a well rounded general management service including; registering of domains and SSL certificates, managing their Linux server using Plesk and interacting with other companies to secure service or support for the client. Also researched, evaluated and recommended software and services which are useful for my client’s business.

Problem solver I exhaustively research all the data I can find then interpret the data to come up with a solution. I love creating and developing solutions for my clients, the whole process is food for my mind. I especially love doing custom programming or trying to make innovative ideas a reality.

Aim for the client’s goals I value customer satisfaction, improving my clients business so that they can increase income. I like to look at my client’s business as my own, seeking to develop and grow it to success.

Standards I seek to standardize where ever possible since I realize the amount of grind work that standardization can cut out of the client’s as well as my own daily workflow.

Experience

Independent Consultant

Engaged in custom programming and development for discountchristian.com, a retail eCommerce bible software web site that was recently acquired by christianbooks.com, a much larger company.

Among the common functions you will find in a online retail store I also provided the following:
  1. Utilized URL rewriting to make page names friendlier to search engines
  2. Created a database redirect system to allow for the managing of renamed pages, following a “maintain all page names” policy. Now using 301 redirects.
  3. Created an auto meta tag generator which reads the content from the product and generates generic keywords and meta tags.
  4. Created an auto submission script which submits database records to froogle.com, now referred to as googlebase.com
  5. Created web store back office to meet the needs and workflow of the client for managing the product content on his web site
  6. Many other projects not listed here…

Developed for 7 years on an eCommerce web site that sells retail water filtration supplies.

  • Developed basic eCommerce components, order form with connection to payflo pro, cart, search, product listings and detail pages.

Designed a property management web site

  • Includes a php/mysql web application for the listing of properties available for rent.

Developed a business directory.

  • Created a simple backoffice interface that makes it easy to add new ads to the site as well as design content.

 

Volunteer

Volunteered as a beta tester for Interakt.ro which was recently acquired by Adobe. The product that I tested on (impatk2, Nextension2 and Phakt2) eventually evolved into what is now called “Adobe® Dreamweaver® Developer Toolbox”

Developed a basic Content Management System for a Christian content web site

Employee

Worked for 2 years as an employee designing web page ads for the sale and rental of time share property.
